three.
there are moments in this life that vary wildly from the day to day. i have had another one. it's easy to get in to the routine of knowing what to expect each day. sleep, eat, work, play, etc. my wife and i even got to the point of "routinely" scheduling when our children would be born. is that something odd or what. "yes, i'll have a little girl with blue eyes, blonde hair at 6:30 am on July......" thankfully, there is He who knows better than me. quick reality check, i am not in control, thoughts may drift to the i'm going to do this and then go there, only to be quickly retrieved into the you're going to do what when!?! a little humbling. i thought it appropriate that this is the third entry since yesterday we delivered our third child. it's not that i've only had three moments of wild variance, it's just three of my favorites. first and second my two beautiful and incredible daughters, and now, the third, my son. it's something you like to think about saying, but when you realize that moment, and the words "my son" roll from your lips, it is moving. He knows that moment. He knew this moment for me before i existed. quietly i give Him thanks. loudly i give Him praise. and lovingly, willingly, i submit.
i am a father of three. i had expectations of what it would be like. they've been exceeded.
